Rochon was born from Torrance (a suburb in Los Angeles), is the daughter Zelma Staples. Her parents are Samuel Staples a graphic designer and businessman. Cerritos Senior High School, located in Cerritos California, is where Rochon graduated in 1982. In 1986 she received her bachelor's degree in 1986 from California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), where she obtained a bachelor's in broadcast journalism, with minors in theatre and sociology. Ullerup was part of the cast as Julia Brynn, a character in the remake of Battlestar Galactica that aired 2006 on Sci Fi Channel. She portrayed Ashley Magnus on the Sanctuary TV series during its initial and second seasons, until the show was cancelled. Her departure led to heated discussion among viewers. Many wanted to bring her back on the show in a subsequent episodes, but the show ended in the year 2012. Ullerup was on the show Chesapeake Shores as Bree O'Brien. Ullerup was Maggie Thomas, the estranged wife to Michael Thomas, in the disaster movie Asteroid: Final Impact (2015). Ullerup's regular role in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered series is Dale Travers since 2016.
