Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers simple, easy-to-learn techniques to cook at home in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the landscape. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied to earn an English degree as well as a communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. It was impossible to take enough enjoyment from the experience. After graduating of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the philosophy of Italian food and culture that left a lasting impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to enhance the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about children's diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher she travels across the United States to discuss her love for cooking and profession. Anne was always grateful that she had the opportunity to share her love of her life, cooking with others.
